MomLife Reset

You are a strong, badass, powerful woman…buuuuut having kids kind of changed that.

Hey Mama…to be honest I still feel weird about being called Mama by other adults, even after 6 years. So let’s start over.

Hey lady, I see you.

You love your kids. You would do absolutely anything for them, and in fact, you do pretty much everything for them. All those things you loved before have fallen to the wayside while you’ve been dedicating your life to keeping them alive and happy.

You’ve been trying your hardest to make amazing memories, teach them important life skills, keep the house clean, feed everyone, and check all the important boxes (read to them, keep teeth brushed and flossed, book necessary appointments, keep up with school/social calendars, healthy food, etc etc etc).

You are a fucking awesome Mom. You are a fucking amazing Human.

But you don’t feel like it.

In fact, you feel like you’re drowning under the pressure of doing all-the-things for everyone and not feeling fulfilled by any of it. You wish you could enjoy these precious days more, but more often than not, you dread doing another day of it alone.

But this is what you wanted, right? So why is it so fucking hard? Or is it just that you’re really bad at it?

Eeeeeeehhhhhh no. You’re not.

Here’s why.

You were never meant to do it alone.

You weren’t even meant to do it in pairs or with a few extra helpers.

You are the result of MILLIONS of years of evolution of parenting in a LITERAL village. Where someone always had eyeballs on the little gremlins and everyone had a part in raising and caring for them. Where you weren’t the sole caregiver and neither was anyone else.

Don’t get me wrong, you were still the Mama, the heart, the soul of the family. But some Aunties took the kids to pick corn in the morning and some Uncles took them on a forest walk in the afternoon and Grandma told them stories while they all peeled potatoes for dinner.

Your brain, your nervous system, your capacity are literally made to do it with many other people. “It takes a village” is not just a saying, it is a way of life that we have lost in only the last 150 years…that is a BLIP in time.

And now, thanks to our hyper-individualistic, you-can-be-successful-if-you-work-hard-enough culture, we believe that if we just do enough, we can be super Moms too.

In fact, if we can just check all the boxes: clean house, well-behaved kids, workouts, ultra-healthy meals, lusty love-life, successful career; we will be that successful version of ourselves that we were before kids.

Overwhelmed at the thought of that?

Of course you are!

Thank fuck there’s another way.

It is 100% possible to feel like yourself again…without adopting out your kids.

Welcome to the MomLife Reset.

Where you CAN get back to feeling like a super-fucking-awesome human being (and Mom) by:

  1. Getting grounded, so that you feel stable as fuck and ready to flow with what comes.
  2. Feeling powerfully connected to your village…without it feeling painful and awkward as shit.
  3. Knowing exactly what your body and nervous system needs to fill you up instead of wasting your precious time on things that don’t refuel you.

Doing it alone sucks. That’s where I come in!

I think our new-age culture of holding it all together, putting a positive spin on it, and doing all the extras is complete and utter bullshit. The antithesis of that is connection.

Join me online (via Zoom) this September for 6 weeks of deep connection, as we shift from the frenzy of summer to the settling of fall.

MomLife Reset is an online space where you will find the support, resources, and community to remember how grounded, strong, creative and powerfully connected you can be.

We’ll gather twice a week for six weeks to discuss and connect, AND release and restore in real time so that you don’t have to do extra hours just to get the good stuff.

We’ll explore somatic practices that unwind the heavy load of stress and tension you’ve been carrying, and remind you of the amazing ways you already know how to release and flow.

You’ll reconnect to your inner wisdom and knowing to get clear about what works for you and what is a waste of your time…because you don’t actually have time for that.

The themes for each week are:

  1. Finding Solid Ground
  2. Tuning In
  3. Preparing for Liftoff
  4. Permission to Liftoff
  5. Return to Earth
  6. Restoration & Regulation

These are a jumping off place, but each group and session is unique!

I’ll be right there with you…

Hey! If we haven’t met yet, I’m Brittanya Beddington, somatic practitioner extraordinaire.

Almost 20 years ago, I started out as a massage therapist for horses and quickly realized that the majority of problems cropping up with horses stemmed from their riders and owners. Thinking I could get to the root of the problem, I trained in massage and yoga for humans and have been working with bodies ever since.

While massage is amazing for relieving tension and helping with injuries, and yoga can bring us into the present moment and stretch us out, I found that the muscles I had softened and relaxed would come back to me as tense as ever at the next appointment. There had to be more to it.

Fast forward to 2017, after having my kiddo and realizing that I wanted to work smarter, not harder while still making a difference for super-tense self and others…I found myself down a rabbit hole of mineral balancing, meditation, and Somatics. And the Somatics were the clincher.

Time after time I find that inserting a solution onto our tension and stress and overwhelm doesn’t often help for long. BUT, asking in to the body and nervous system about what it really needs, with support and safety, takes us straight to the heart of what matters.

I believe every being is already whole, but over time we pick up layers of emotional, mental, and physical gunk that make us feel murky and disconnected. My role here is to support you in unwinding those layers of gunk in a way that works best for you, your body, and your nervous system. I do this by meeting you where you’re at right now, and moving at the pace that you need in this moment.
