About Brittanya

Brittanya has completed a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and is registered as a Canadian Certified Counsellor (C.C.C.) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. She believes in co-creating therapy that is responsive to each individual and relationship, adapting session by session so clients feel empowered to engage in the way that best supports them that day. Her work fosters connection, acceptance, awareness, and change through experiential, creative, somatic, and cognitive approaches. This can look like traditional talk therapy or be adapted for when words are not accessible.

Brittanya values broadening her perspective and is continually learning. Her approach is grounded in person-centered therapy and integrates tools from a range of evidence-based approaches based on each client’s unique needs (such as narrative therapy, gestalt therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy [ACT], cognitive behavioural therapy, somatic therapy, and solution focused brief therapy). She supports mind-body connections based on 15 years of experience as a massage, yoga, and somatic practitioner working with both humans and horses.

Brittanya supports adults and adolescents with a broad range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, self-worth, ADHD, life transitions, and sleep challenges. She combines research, training, and personal insight to support clients navigating specific challenges such as postpartum depression and family stress related to work-away schedules. Additional areas of interest are animal-human relationships, including grief following the loss of a pet and working through past trauma or limiting beliefs that impede horse-human relationships. Her practice is sex and kink positive and affirming of diverse identities. She provides a safe space for clients to show up as they are.

Brittanya lives in Revelstoke with her partner and kiddo. You might see her out and about mountain biking, enjoying a local lake, or visiting the library. She is currently accepting new clients at Ascent Psychology, virtually, and on her small private farm.
